A tasty and prolific bean selected by Denis Hughes in Tapanui, Otago. Hughey produces attractive scarlet flowers that add some welcome winter colour to the garden. Hughey produces succulent, nutty flavoured green beans that stay green when cooked. This is a tall growing variety that needs some form of support or staking.
