Hyacinths are renowned for their dense spikes of star-shaped, highly fragrant flowers, generally one spike per bulb, over a vase-shaped rosette of swordlike green leaves. The colour of the flowers ranges from pure white to yellow, salmon, pink, blue, purple, and near red.
