A compact, clump-forming perennial to 45cm tall, with lobed basal leaves and reddish-brown stems bearing slightly nodding, bell-shaped, semi-double coppery-pink flowers in late spring opening from reddish buds. Flowers open wide at maturity, the overlapping petals giving a frilled appearance with yellow and brownish stamens.
