An attractive small tree with large reddish coloured flower buds occurs in groups of 3 that open to reveal large yellow flowers in spring, followed by woody bell-shaped seed capsules. Is ideally suited to small gardens. Typically forms an erect slender stem with smooth mottled greyish bark, straggling branches, and thick large ovate leaves with blunt rounded tips.
